Pickler's Pa Back in the Pen

Poor Kelly Pickler. Hasn't this poor girl gone through enough with her dysfunctional parental unit? Apparently not. According to numerous sources, including Showbuzz, Kelly's father, Clyde "Bo" Raymond Pickler Jr., 42, was arrested on Feb. 7 in Albemarle, N.C., for allegedly assaulting his new wife with a steak knife. He was subsequently charged with misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon, misdemeanor assault on a female and a misdemeanor charge of communicating threats. Pickler's mug shot was taken Wednesday at 4:46 a.m. He is being held on $20,000 bail. A trial date was set for Feb. 28.

Kellie Pickler's representative confirms the reports, telling Us Weekly, "This information is correct and Kellie is aware of the situation. We have no comment." While his daughter was competing on Idol, Clyde Pickler was finishing a three-year sentence in Florida for stabbing his neighbor in 2003. He was released in May 2006.

According to The Charlotte Observer, Danielle Pickler, the woman accusing Pickler of attacking her with a steak knife, says the two were childhood friends growing up in Albemarle. She said she got back in touch with Clyde Pickler Jr. when she started writing him while he was serving time in Florida. They married last month, and this week, she says, he came at her with a knife. Danielle Pickler also said this wasn't the first time Clyde Pickler was violent. Arrest warrants show his new wife alleges he held a steak knife to her saying, "You know that guy I stabbed in Florida that didn't die? Well it's gonna be different this time because you are going to die."

Danielle Pickler said her husband was intoxicated early Wednesday morning when he shoved her into their bathroom and wouldn't let her out. She said her 18-year-old daughter finally had to call the police to get help. Danielle Pickler also said she's spoken with her family and if Clyde is willing to go to counseling, she's willing to drop the charges. That, however, would be up to the district attorney.

MORE IDOL POLICE BEAT

According to TMZ.com, Leroy Wells, who auditioned for "Idol" in 2005, was arrested after allegedly charging at deputies who had pursued his vehicle for reckless driving in Alabama on Monday. Mobile County Law enforcement authorities claim Wells had to be subdued with a taser after he failed to comply with the deputy's instructions. Officials also found a .38 caliber gun in Wells' front seat. Wells was charged with six counts of resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, giving a false name to law enforcement, no pistol permit, person forbidden to possess a pistol, and fleeing/attempting to elude. If you don't remember Wells' 2005 audition, check out the video of it at YouTube.com.

JUST IN TIME FOR IDOL

PR-Inside.com reports that Robyn Troup, the wannabe who won the chance to perform with Justin Timberlake at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night has been revealed to be an Idol hopeful who it is believed to have made it to the Hollywood rounds. When Troup, 19, who sang "My Love" and "Ain't No Sunshine" with the hunky former *NSYNCer as part of the "My Grammy Moment" talent search, let it slip backstage during a post-show interview that she "tried out" for the current season of Idol, she was quickly silenced by handlers. The pretty Texan then said, "I can't really talk about it," and refused to reveal whether she had made it past the audition (if she hadn't, she could have said so at this point, as they are over). If you missed Robyn's duet debut, you can catch it here on YouTube.com.

WINNING GRAMMYS ... AND A HEART

UPI reports that Carrie Underwood and British singer Oliver Trevena are an item. Underwood and Trevena were reportedly seen hugging and kissing last month after driving to the Los Angeles airport, where Underwood caught a flight. Us Weekly was also told by a source that Underwood and Trevena began dating weeks ago.

And E!Online says that Underwood may not have walked the red carpet at the Grammys with her new boyfriend, but that doesn't mean he wasn't with her. The site reports Underwood and Trevena looking lovey-dovey at the Sony-BMG after-party at the Beverly Hills Hotel, where the American Idol winner and her beau held hands on a couch while chatting with friends and sharing a small plate of assorted sushi. Trevena fetched a couple of drinks from one of the many open bars (he tipped the bartender $5), and then Underwood hand-fed him some of the night's waffle and fruit dessert.

And if you missed Underwood's and Rascal Flatts' musical tribute to Texas Playboys founder Bob Wills ("Rose of San Antone") and Eagles founding member Don Henley ("Hotel California," Desperado" and "Life in the Fast Lane") at the awards ceremony, you can view it right here:

STRIKE A POSE

Celebrity Spider reports that Season 3 finalist and Oscar nominee Jennifer Hudson is making history by becoming
the first African-American singer to appear on the cover of U.S. Vogue. The "Dreamgirls" star will appear on the cover of the magazine's annual Power Issue in March, following in the footsteps of Oprah Winfrey and Halle Berry as only the third African-American celebrity to grace the cover of the fashion bible. Hudson was shot for the publication by famed Annie Leibovitz at Harlem's Apollo Theater. The issue is one of the biggest and most anticipated of the year thanks to its spring fashion preview. There are three more portrait pics of Huson inside the magazine to go along with her seven-page story.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

Yes, yes, he's the man we love to hate, but he's just so damn snarky we couldn't resist including this quote from an interview with Ian Benardo in New York magazine about his "American Idol" audition:

Q. Was there anything else that got edited out?

A. Simon said that I don't look like an American Idol, and I told him that, with all his money, he has bigger breasts than Paula, and he should do something about it.
