No Drama at All

Earlier in the day, executive producer Nigel Lythgoe, when interviewed on TVWeek.com, hinted of some drama on tonight's results show when he said, "There's always surprises on 'American Idol' and none more so than tonight." Huh? We were sure that meant someone such as Blake Lewis was leaving, someone totally unexpected. But surprise! There was no surprise.

The bottom three:
Brandon Rogers
Phil Stacey
Sanjaya Malakar

The only thing that would have surprised -- and pleased us -- would have been for Sanjaya to go, but of course, he didn't. Neither did Phil Stacey, who was released back to his seat first.

So backup singer Brandon Rogers proved that he just couldn't cut it as the front man.

More in the morning ...

Sanjaya needs to go! I think there is a conspiracy.
